Working in a supportive team environment, this position is directly responsible for growing the revenues from the province of Quebec and the Ottawa region comprising of leisure accounts (travel agency networks). This experienced, results oriented individual will use their network and knowledge of the industry to create new revenue opportunities for the business while managing and maintaining the existing relationships within member agency partners.
This role will require the individual to balance in-person sales calls to member agencies with in-house sales support to their member agency partners
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining and growing defined territory via in-person, virtual sales calls, and email support as required
Provides inside sales support to the travel industry, inclusive of handling all requests via an online customer service desk
Participates at industry events, tradeshows or other activities as deemed appropriate
Co-ordinates the implementation of preferred travel agency partner programs
Maintains a current up to date travel agency database by geographic area
Maintains and administers the travel agent Free Day program including any other incentive/commission type program
Responsible for the deployment of seasonal coupon runs and e-coupons as needed
Supports the regular update of a travel industry newsletter deployed to existing travel agent database
May co-ordinate other administrative activities or provides support to the sales team, as deemed appropriate or required per the sales manager
Other related duties may include conducting background sales research, liaising between field sales representatives and internal operations personnel, and assisting sales and marketing personnel on projects and assignments
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bilingual (English and French)
Business/ Marketing/Travel and Tourism post-secondary education
3- 5 years of direct work experience
Knowledge of the tourism industry would be an asset
Previous experience in a sales or marketing coordinator role would be beneficial
Must own a car and hold a clean and valid driving license
