The Digital and Social Media Editor’s primary function is to create and distribute short-form, platform-specific content that extends the reach and engagement of Baxter Media’s editorial output. This role supports content packaging, social publishing, audience interaction, and digital optimization while working closely with editors and marketers to amplify the reach of Baxter’s content. The Digital and Social Media Editor collaborates with the Head of Sales, the Head of Marketing, and Head of Live Events to ensure content relevancy and appeal to core and new audiences. The position is responsible for turning core editorial content into effective digital engagement assets. The Digital and Social Media Editor reports to the Executive Editor and Publisher.
Key Duties
Create digital-first and social-ready content derived from editorial priorities.
Write headlines, social copy, blurbs, captions, and promotional text.
Publish and schedule content across key digital and social channels.
Monitor engagement trends and provide feedback on content performance.
Coordinate with editors and marketing on timing, packaging, and optimization.
Support basic multimedia and visual content needs where required.
Perform video production and editing of digital and social media contents.
Develop and edit TravelPress Today (daily newsletter).
Assist with the publication of the weekly consumer newsletter.
Take on assignments for other Baxter Media publications and products when required.
Travel for business and attend industry functions when required.
Qualifications
3 plus years of digital content production or social media experience.
Strong familiarity with social platforms, CMS tools, scheduling systems, and analytics.
Strong writing, editing, and digital packaging skills.
Basic visual content sensibility and comfort working with creative assets.
Ability to execute quickly while maintaining accuracy and brand consistency.
