Vice President, Commercial


G Adventures, the world’s largest privately owned small group adventure tour operator is seeking a Vice President, Commercial. As the Vice President, Commercial you will report directly to the Founder of the business and will be based at our Head Office in Toronto, Canada.

We are seeking a dynamic data-driven, collaborative individual who can inspire, lead and drive our global teams in the various regions. This position is all about setting the teams up to be successful, we need a coach who can attract, retain and nurture our in-house and remote teams to continually improve and maximize organizational performance.

The right candidate needs to be passionate about delivering exceptional customer experience across every single touch point in the process and be accountable for the company’s activities relating to Marketing, Air, Sales, Retail and our Customer Contact Centres to drive business growth and market share.

You will be tasked with making sure all functions of the organization are aligned to help the regions meet their strategic commercial objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifying, developing and retaining a high performing cohesive customer obsessed global teams
  • Accountable for effective organizational design, including resource deployment & performance management processes
  • Setting the KPI’s, budget and targets for the various departments which align with overall company objectives
  • Drive organization change initiatives by continuously assessing current processes for improvement, championing change management and removing any obstacles that impede positive change
  • Developing objectives and managing the successful execution of revenue plans that consistently surpass quarterly and annual expectations
  • Providing regular forecasting, monitoring and reporting of all necessary financial information, including new sales, new business opportunities, and renewal revenue by region
  • Sharing market insights and needs within the business.
  • Partnering with the Global Marketing and Customer Experience teams to identify and prioritize strategies and actions to maximize customer retention and satisfaction and to deliver best in class service
  • Leading and setting the strategy to drive and implement best practices and common process across the global teams
  • Leading the process to design and evaluate compensation plans, territory alignment, incentive plans and additional programs to drive sales results
  • Responsible for developing and delivering the strategy across the company’s global commercial regions, the UK, Europe, Australasia, North America, Canada and Emerging Markets including: contact centres, marketing, sales, retail and air
Requirements:
  • Business degree complemented with10+ years senior management experience
  • Experience leading a team of diverse managers both in-house and in remote locations
  • Exceptional leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, coach, recruit, develop and inspire superior performers
  • Experience with, or a solid understanding of adventure travel product, processes and the travel industry
  • Be willing and able to accommodate a relatively high level of travel, both nationally and internationally
  • Advanced negotiation and executive level presentation skills
  • High energy, strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective plans
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and thrive in an entrepreneurial, change-driven environment
  • A demonstrated passion and obsession with improving customer experience and creating a best in class organization
  • An understanding and strong working knowledge of what factors impact the travel industry and our customers purchasing decision
  • Strong strategic planning, project management, conceptual, analytical, and both short and long-term decision-making skills
  • The ability to relate effectively as a business partner with other corporate and operating staff.

Salary: C$210,000 – 240,000
